Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a captivating story to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which casino betting is not allowed. Eight casinos are established in a relatively small area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent destination, a 3 to 4 hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital accrued from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 1700, and though visas are apparently required to cross, there are ways around this, as is real of most borders.

The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked barge gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling hall never closes with forty two tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and sixty six of the familiar table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel building that highlights a number of amenities aside from the gambling den, which has 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slot machine games and 88 tables.
